The Richard and Darlene Garand Memorial Scholarship
Oregon Community Theatre is committed to supporting and encouraging the continued growth of theatre and performing arts education beyond the high school stage. Oregon Community Theatre will award a $1,000 scholarship toward tuition to one graduating high school senior. Preference will be given to students who plan to pursue a college degree in a field related to the theatrical and performing arts, such as theatre performance, musical theatre, dance, music, or theatre production.
This scholarship reflects OCT’s dedication to nurturing creativity, passion, and the
lifelong appreciation of the performing arts within our community.
Scholarships will be given to one applicant who best meets or exceeds the following requirements:
- The applicant must be a high school senior with a GPA of 2.5 or better
- The applicant must be attending an accredited college in the Fall of 2026.
- The applicant must have theater experience (on stage or backstage) and must have been involved in at least one Oregon Community Theatre production (regular season or children’s summer theatre)
- Preference will be given to applicants who will Major or Minor in a field related to theatrical performing arts (ex: Theater, Music, Dance, Theater production).
- The scholarship money must be used for tuition and/or books
- Complete the Online Application by 11:59 PM EST on April 24
Applications emailed or mailed before April 17, 2026 will be accepted as submitted. There is no need for resubmission.
The Marge Brown Memorial Scholarship
Oregon Community Theatre is proud to introduce the Marge Brown Memorial Scholarship, established to honor Marge’s dedication to youth theatre and the Oregon Community Theatre Children’s Summer Theatre program. This scholarship celebrates students who discovered their love of theatre through OCT and who carry forward the values of creativity, service, and community.
Oregon Community Theatre will award $1000 toward tuition to one high school senior. Preference will be given to students pursuing a college degree in public service or education.
Scholarships will be given to one applicant who best meets or exceeds the following requirements:
- The applicant must be a high school senior with a GPA of 2.5 or better
- The applicant must be attending an accredited college in the Fall of 2026.
