Oregon Community Theatre was founded 40 years ago! We are so excited to be celebrating this milestone this year. I hope that every person who has participated in a show with OCT is able to come celebrate with us in some way.

Our Kickoff event is planned for August 1^, 2026, and is open to all ages. We also have a Red Carpet Gala planned in the summer of 2027 to wrap up the anniversary season.

The season itself will have a fun for everyone. Our fall show is the moving musical Come From Away. Directed by Amy Spaulding-Heuring, with Music Direction by Jenny Jackson, it is an emotional journey to the town of Gander, Newfoundland following the events of September 11, 2001.

The winter will showcase the raucous comedy of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised][again], Directed by Elizabeth Latta. This fast paced comedy features all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays performed by 3 actors in 97 minutes.

The spring show is the lively 1920’s inspired musical Drowsy Chaperone. This show will feature Direction by Josh Wagner and Music Direction by Janaye Ashman.

The OCT Children’s Theatre will bring the fire breathing action musical How to Train Your Dragon, Jr to life in the Summer under the Direction of Beth Giller. Based on the animated movie of the same name, Hiccup & Toothless take to the stage in this updated version of the Viking story.

Along the way we will share stories of memories we made over the past 40 years, make new memories together to share at future events and make new friends to share them with.  I am so grateful for every person who has been a part of the journey and looking forward to all of the new voices we haven’t heard from yet.
